How long will my lashes last?
On average, our clients come in every 2-3 weeks for lash fills.
Because your natural eyelashes shed daily, the extension attached to it will shed also and as a result you will require touch ups in order to maintain a full look. Some clients have very thin natural lashes and will prefer to come in sooner to keep a fuller look.
-
Do you use real mink lashes?
No, I don't. The health of your eyes is our number one priority and because animal hair can never be 100% sterilized, it can cause allergic reactions. And because mink lashes are manually curled and with washing and handling, they lose their curl.
-
Can I swim, shower or exercise while wearing eyelash extensions?
Yes. The glue is waterproof and allow you to shower, swim and exercise etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend that you do not wet your eyelash extensions for 24 hours after the eyelash application.
-
Can I use an eyelash curler with eyelash extensions?
I do not recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possible your own natural lashes.
-
Who can't wear eyelash extensions?
Anyone with adhesive allergies.
Anyone who just had Lasik has to wait at least 3 months and seek their doctor's approval prior to getting eyelash extensions.
Anyone who just had an eyelift (Blepharoplasty) must wait 4 to 6 months after the operation and also need their doctor's approval.
Anyone who had Chemotherapy in the last 6 months.
Anyone who has medical condition related to their eyes, sight or eye area should consult their doctor first.
Anyone with very curly lashes. Eyelash extensions don't last as long on naturally curly lashes.
-
Are eyelash extensions safe while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Generally speaking, eyelash extensions are a safe and non-invasive cosmetic procedure. The adhesive does not touch your skin as the extensions are glued to the eyelash hairs. Allergic reactions to the adhesive are rare and reactions can be treated. In saying this, I do not recommend that pregnant women who have not had eyelash extensions before test out the procedure during their pregnancy.
- Firstly, the lash extension procedure requires you to lay flat on your back for over one hour, a position that is not recommended for women in the advanced stages of pregnancy. It also requires that you lay quite still, which can be difficult if you’re heavily pregnant.
- Secondly, because pregnancy changes hormone levels which in turn can make you hypersensitive to things you've never had a problem with before. If a reaction was to occur the medication needed cannot be taken during pregnancy.
Hormones also affect lash retention. Hormones in the body can greatly affect the lifespan of your eyelash extensions and cause a surge in lash loss so your eyelash extensions might not last as long while you are pregnant and after you have a baby.
-
How do you disinfect your equipment?
I work hard to ensure the highest level of sanitation using medical grade disinfectants. All implements used are thoroughly cleaned using a hospital grade disinfectant. If a tool or implement cannot be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized, it will be discarded after each client or given to you for home use.
Lash Lift+ Tint FAQ
-
What is a lash lift?
Lash lift is an advancement on the old fashioned "lash perm" that lifts and enhances your natural lashes for up to 8 weeks.
-
How do I need to prep for the treatment?
Please arrive COMPLETELY FREE of all makeup. If there is any mascara left on your lashes, it will result in a poor lift.
If you wear contacts, they must be removed.
Please shower beforehand because you cannot get the lashes wet for 24 hours.
-
Can I wear makeup after my lash lift?
Yes, but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.
-
How do I clean my eyes?
Gently using mild products. Always wait 24 hours to do this straight after the procedure.
-
Can I get a lash lift if I have very short lashes?
Most of the time, yes.
Though it can be challenging if the lashes aren't even long enough to bring up and back on to the silicone pads.
But give it a shot once and see how you do.
-
How often can I have a lash lift?
A lash lift will begin to naturally drop after about 2 month and your lashes will be back to their natural look.
You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of one month if you feel you need to or you can wait until they are back to their natural state.
-
Am I a good candidate for a lash lift + tint?
Hormones can play a surprising part in how your lashes behave. If you are pregnant, have recently had a baby or are on any other medication, the lift may either not take or may drop out quicker than normal
Have pre-existing eye(lid) conditions such as chronic dry eye, blepharitis, conjunctivitis and ocular rosacea
Lasik surgery (wait a minimum of 6 months from your procedure)
Have Trichotillomania (compulsive pulling or twisting hair, eyebrows and eyelashes)
Have very sensitive eyes or possible allergies to adhesive
Who are rough with their lashes
Undergoing chemo treatments or have had chemo treatments within the past year (recommend to consult with your physician)
Are sensitive or have allergies to dyes
Had blepharoplasty surgery (must wait a minimum of 1 year after your surgery)
